Round the Islands Race 2013

The weather is going to be fantastic this weekend with sunshine and light breezes. Perfect for the Round the Islands Race.Even if you don’t actual want to ‘race’ you can still take part.

If you have a dinghy you will have the comfort of a safety boat to keep an eye out for you. The reward is you get to see parts of the harbour you don’t normally see. Goat Horn is one of my favourite places in the world.
Its an achievement to get round. A little feather in your sailing sou’wester so to speak.

For you cruisers that don’t normally race but would like to join in, I am introducing a gentleman’s handicap system for a bit of fun. You just need to give me five minutes when you sign in.

Start is at 12 Noon.
Please turn up as we have a BBQ set up for you when you get back and the bar will be open. Last year this was great fun and well attended.

I think that, I will sail, this year with friends its easier that sailing with my wife. Sue and I where laughing at how competitive we are at things, but I laugh more. We never argue when we go sailing, but when we do I always get the last word. It’s just that sometimes she can’t hear it.

Round the Islands this Saturday 12 o’clock.
