East Dorset Sailing Club caters for both cruising and dinghy sailors alike, with around 60 swinging moorings; some in deep water alongside the main channel, with others adjacent to the north channel and some even closer to the pier that you can often walk to on a low tide!. These moorings are all used during the sailing season (1st April to 31st October) and tenders, used to reach the swinging moorings) are moored on outhauls along the wooden pier, from where they are rowed or powered out by members to reach their cruisers.

Dinghy spaces, just under 40 of them, are located on the concrete hard standing area and can be easily launched from the slipway into water which is often no more than a metre deep. The clubhouse itself provides showers, a wet room and a members lounge with kitchen facilities and the club has its own car park.

We have 6 club dinghies: 2 family-sized Topper Argos, 2 Laser Picos, and 2 Toppers, which are all available for members to use on an annual or daily fee-paying basis during the sailing season (1st April to 31st October), meaning that members don’t have to have their own boat in order to enjoy sailing from the club.
